Business Development Consultant – Oldham

Main Purpose of the Role

  • The primary focus of the role is to identify new business opportunities – focusing on Industrial and Driving, growth areas, and trends that align with the overall business strategy.

Reporting To

  • Branch Operations Director

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Identifying strong potential prospects using specified data, initiative, and creativity
  • Assessing market conditions and identifying opportunities.
  • Generating lead opportunities.
  • Completing an agreed amount of, specified outbound sales contacts each day.
  • Managing, nurturing, and converting outbound leads into sales opportunities
  • Drafting forecasts, business plans and reportable KPI’s in support of the Branch Operations Director.
  • Providing engaging and articulate information to potential clients
  • Providing structured, informative, and meaningful presentations to potential clients·
  • Maintaining well organised, up-to-date, and accurate sales information within the company CRM system.
  • Provide accurate and timely information as required to the Branch Operations Director.
  • Understand and achieve agreed targets and KPIs.
  • Networking activity to share knowledge, plan promotional activities and achieve goals.
  • Operate in harmony with other Thrive business divisions.
  • Complying with all applicable laws and regulations for the industry.
  • Comply with all relevant sector-specific legislation.
  • Adhering to Professional Codes of Practice and REC professional standards.
  • Comply with company management systems, including accurate database management.

Skill Set

  • Demonstrates ability to interact professionally with potential clients via phone, email and face to face.
  • 6 months demonstrable experience in a business development role.
  • Previous experience of B-to-B sales.
  • Highly developed all-round interpersonal skills.
  • Customer service oriented with a positive, well-motivated attitude.
  • Conscientious and driven desire to improve sales and activity performance beyond targets.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills with the flexibility to reprioritise, as necessary.
  • Proficient in all aspects of English language, especially speaking, listening, and writing skills. (GCSE English.
  • Literature and Language Grade B; Maths Grade C).
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Problem-solving, influencing, questioning, and listening skills.
  • Self-motivated.

Review and Appraisal Mechanism

  • Weekly/Monthly targets.
  • Quarterly Review.
  • Annual Appraisal.

Working Monday – Friday, 7.30am – 5.00 pm, with 1hr for lunch.

You will also be part of an out of hours oncall rota, this will include weekends.
