Health & Safety Advisor required for our client in Manchester.
To promote and comply with our client’s policies on health and safety both in the delivery of services and the treatment of others.
Comply with and promote equality legislation and my client’s policies on diversity and equality.
Take steps to eliminate unlawful discrimination, advance equality of opportunity and foster good relations.
To fully participate in my client’s development review process.
To comply with the requirements of my client’s policies on Drug and Alcohol testing – requirements in respect of specific posts/ roles are described in the policies which are available on the Intranet/SharePoint.
To carry out such other duties which are consistent with the nature, responsibilities and grading of the post.
All staff and officers must adhere to and comply with Data Protection, Freedom of Information and Human Rights legislation and the Authorised Professional Practice (Information Management).

NEBOSH Certificate in Safety and Health.
Relevant Level 6 professional qualification.
Graduate member of professional Institute – Institute of Occupational Safety & Health (IOSH).
Providing health and safety advice Five years+.
Dealing with health and safety issues in a large/ or public sector organisation.
Assisting in the development of health and safety guidance.
Accident investigations and reporting.
Analysis and production of statistical performance reports.
Up to date knowledge of health and safety statute, case law, codes of practice and guidance.
Excellent verbal, written, communication and presenting skills.
Work independently and be accountable in law for own act and omissions.
Ability to create and deliver H&S training.
Ability to Influence, negotiate and be the vector for change.
Ability to determine the need for and operate scientific instruments and interpret results.
Work at height, in confined spaces, hazardous environments, attend hazardous scenes/premises and wear PPE.
Ability to sympathetically deal with harrowing situations.
Ability to cope with distressing scenes, images and written documentation.
Resilient, resourceful and self-motivated.
Understanding of computer applications, word excel, etc.
Has achieved a good attendance record.
Holds a driving licence and have access to own vehicle for work use.
